Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege is a tactical shooter video game developed by Ubisoft, same company that published other great games like Ghost Recon Wildlands, Far Cry 5, or Watch Dogs 2. Even one of the free games of this month for the PlayStation Plus members is also one of these guys games.
Rainbow Six® Siege was released worldwide for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on December 1, 2015. I have bought it a couple of weeks ago, as it was on sale 😉 and I just wanted to try another shooter from Ubisoft, different from Ghost Recon / PVP i’m playing for the last year.
Yeah, it’s nice to play co-op like this. 🙂
➡ The LOOKS (rating 8/10)
Without further comments I will go for a 8/10 rating on the R5S graphics. Comparing with FarCry 5, the last game published by Ubisoft – read my 1st timer article here, you might say that is unfair to rate it that high, and I totally agree, but we are only ending up comparing apples with pears.
Rainbow Six® Siege has its own awesome graphic style and I think the details needed might be at the perfect level. The entire action is inside the buildings and airplanes, so, in the end, the focus must be on the enemies not on the perfect textures of the barricades. 😉
Here are 6 minutes of my first 8′ or so in the game. It contains the story and the first mission in the game, enough for you to see if it fits your gaming needs for the next period. 😉 Please note that I have edited a little bit the footage, so don’t be so excited about the close-ups. These are mine. 🙂
➡ The MUSCLES (rating 8/10)
One morning, 2 guys from US took me for a Rainbow Six® Siege 6vs6 PVP ride, after a couple of hours in the bolivian wildlands. And imagine that it took me like a couple of rounds not to kill at least one of my team mates. 🙂 The gameplay is 2-3 times more brutal than Ghost War, as it has no… grace, or elegance, if I might say so.
You will need some time to understand how to control all that amount of gear, the gun and also the movements. It’s not hard, it’s only different. So give it some time before you say is hard.
My rating is only 8/10.
➡ The BRAIN (rating 8/10)
We are talking about catchy but simple stories that implies terrorists and special forces squads, and I have played long enough to experience also an airplane situation. I am sure that this game has a lot more to offer me, but, somehow, I can see the limits of its story from the very beginning.
My rating is 8/10.
✅ Final rating: 8
Rainbow Six® Siege got an eight out of ten points rating on my 1st timer category. Should you buy it? If you ask me, you should, but I think it must be something like a group decision, if you are regularly play other games too with friends on PSN.
I have played it for a couple of matches all by myself, and the fun was none.
Maps are too small for my taste, and the gameplay too brutal to play it without a squad. But if you already have it, don’t forget to add me on PSN (CostinLive), maybe we’ll go for some rounds. I will definitely play this game from time to time.

My name is Costin, and I live in Spain. I started this blog because I love sharing good stories from the games I’m playing on PlayStation 4. I will also start writing about life aspects, or digital industry subjects.
On PlayStation 4 I use SoyNikolas and CostinLive as first accounts, but I am playing also with NadaFueUnError and HoldThisBeerMate, just for the fun of their names in spanish and english. 🙂
