Today, I have received a press-release from Sony, the first this year, full of numbers about the PlayStation 4 environment. The press-release is announcing a new sales record, and I think it will be interesting in archiving this numbers here, as PlayStation 4 is soon coming to the end of its life.
Here they are:
- Sony estimates more than 91.6M units sold until dec 31, 2018. Estimated because of the different dates used to collect the information from all regions.
5.6M units were sold this holidays only, said Sony, estimating this number using the data collected between 11/19/2018 and 12/31/2018.
There are more than 50.7M games sold during this winter holidays, and a total of 876M PS4 games sold since its launch.
Launched in sept. 2018, Marvel’s Spider-Man summed more than 9M copies sold until nov 25, 2018 (the data has been collected during 9/7/2018 and 11/25/2018 and include both Blu-Rays and DLC estimates.
