Game: God of War
Launch date: April 20, 2018

Company: Sony Interactive Entertainment
PlayStation Store: God of War (US) // God of War (EU)

Yesterday, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced the launch of God of War, a game developed by the Santa Monica Studio for the last 5 years, with awesome worldwide reviews. I attended the launch day (press and bloggers) event in Romania (a premiere for me, never been on a game launch event before), that took place in the very heart of Bucharest.

📖 God of War // Story

The action of the new God of War takes place in the harsh world of the Scandinavian gods and monsters, where Kratos has to fulfil a personal mission. For the first time, Kratos’s most important goal is to provide protection to Atreus, his own son. With a mature vision of his own existence, Kratos must control his fury that dominated him in Olympus, which means that players will have a new perspective on an extremely powerful character in his father’s posture.

In battles, Kratos uses the Leviathan ax, which he can throw on enemies but also recall, and to defend himself, he uses a shield to cover for enemy attacks. During this time, Atreus deconstructs the opponents’ positions and can throw powerful arrows to immobilise those who are in battle with his father. Moreover, Kratos and Atreus can explore the vast universe, placed in the Norse mythology, in a series of secondary missions, rewarding them with bonuses or improvements for weapons, armor, and talismans.

🎶 Music available on Spotify

The music of God of War was composed by Bear McCreary and retains specific elements from previous series (chorus, drums) tailored to the Norse mythology. All songs are available on Spotify. As for the graphics, players can choose between Favor Resolution (for higher resolution) or Favor Performance (1080p resolution and a higher frame rate for a fluid experience).

▶️ Availability

God of War is available on the PlayStation Store and PlayStation partners, exclusive to PS4.
